What others have said…

Dr. Neil Fassina, President, Okanagan College: “It is not an understatement to say that Andrew will be missed incredibly: his leadership over the years has impacted every corner of our institution, and his calm, caring demeanor has helped the College weather many challenges and storms.   He is a consummate professional who shows poise in any environment. Throughout his career, Andrew has supported the institution through periods of opportunity, including our growth as a College since 2005, and through significant challenges, such as navigating the COVID pandemic. Having come from an academic background, Andrew has remained steadfast in his commitment to empowering others to create incredible learning environments and supports for OC students. His commitment is truly inspiring.

Peter Haubrich, Former Board Member, Accelerate Okanagan: “I have known Dr. Andrew Hay since 2005 after I moved to Canada from Europe. When I founded the first business incubator in the Okanagan Valley (ORIC) I was pleased that Andrew volunteered to be a board member. Andrew and I have had many interactions since. He became the board chair of OSTEC (The Science and Technology Council for the Okanagan Valley). He also participated in the Okanagan Partnership that supported the creation of UBC in the Okanagan. Andrew was instrumental in the merger of ORIC and OSTEC which became Accelerate Okanagan AO. He is a strong advocate for the transition to renewable energies and was highly involved in the creation of the Okanagan College’s Centre of Excellence in Penticton which incorporated an ORIC business incubator. I reported to Andrew as an innovation consultant with a focus on innovation and renewable energy. It was always a pleasure working with Andrew in various roles and besides his responsibilities at Okanagan College, he is a strong community supporter. I highly recommend Andrew.”

Julliette Cunningham, past Board Chair, Okanagan College: “In my 5 years in my role on the Board of Governors I have been so impressed with the consummate professionalism afforded myself and others by Andrew.  Always calm and patient when explaining reasons for various decisions, we always knew that students were at the center of those resolutions.”
